The under 13's won their league this season. The team played some fantastic football which was a joy to watch and a credit to them. In the 22 games played they scored 134 goals with all 15 outfield squad players scoring, and conceded only 19 goals. The team only lost one game all season which was against our main rivals Horwich St'Marys at home 4-2, who we beat away earlier 8-1. This set up a play off game for the league title at Ashton Town.

After going behind early on to a corner it wasn't until the second half that we got into the game with with Dearden equalising. Then after conceding again from a corner, Dearden again equalising to send the game into extra time which although panthers dominated they couldn't score, so the game went to penalties. After both teams missed a penalty and panthers keeper Bretherton saved one it was Dearden who scored the last penalty to win the league for Standish. It was just reward for a season in which the whole squad played there part.
